I think trump will switch eventually. As you said it’s all about polling. He may even already have a plan about a strategic time to switch allegiance to ensure most benefit from the announcement.
I guess another big factor will be how much money he has made off big pharma to support vaccines too but even then eventually he will have to switch if the excess deaths keep coming.
